Busy October!

October has been a very busy month! In fact, we're still trying to see what happened to July, August, and September! We made another trip out west, to San Jose, for a festival, in September.

Upon returning, we had several weekends, that included L.A, and Paris, TX. We headed out for dances in St Louis. While in St Louis, we were treated to a visit to the "Fabulous Fox Theater". We had a terrific tour of the theater! We learned the theater was built in 1928 through 1929, by William Fox. The extravagance, is unbelievable!
Below, are several photos, taken, during the tour.
The theater, as seen from the front.

The brass doors, as you enter the theater.

From the moment you enter the theater,
the extravagance is spectacular!
This view, is what you see as you enter!

this display case, shows some of the Tony awards, from productions at the Fox.
Little D, seated in one of many elegant chairs, or should I say thrones!

A view of the lighting fixture in the auditorium. Ashamed the light wasn't on! The fixture is 12 feet in diameter, and 3 people can work inside the fixture, cleaning, and changing the bulbs!

A view of the art work over the stage. the elephants head, is life size!

More art work, in the theater,

This piece of stained glass, is in the ceiling of the lady lounge. Note
the cigarette, in the ladies hand. This means, it's okay for the ladies to smoke, in the lounge!

A view of the men's lounge! Note the photos above the urinals! These were very racy photos, for that era, 1930's

These are the original projectors, installed in 1929.

I thought these seats were really cool! Every seat in the theater, is upholstered, like this one.

A view of the theater, as seen from the stage!

Our visit to the Fox Theater was fantastic! We had a special tour, conducted by one of our dancing friends, Bill and Francine, from st Louis. The extravagance, of the theater, is second to none!

Upon, leaving the Fox, we paid a return visit to the Triumph Grille, in St Louis. We were admiring our photo, on the wall of fame, in the grille!

The wall of shame, I mean fame, in the grille.

D&D, admiring our photo, on the wall!

Our visit to The Fox, and the Triumph Grille, was great!
Anyone visiting St Louis, should, definitely, visit these two attractions!
