The Great Harley Adventure

Our ride started, as we journeyed to Chicago for a July 4th dance, in the Chicago area. We met up with our friends Ron, and Jackie, on the 3rd. we played around in Chicago, Saturday, and Sunday. after calling a couple of dances, we all headed to Milwaukee, the home of Harley-Davidson! We rode to Racine, WI, where we secured lodging for the night. After settling into our motel, we rode on to Milwaukee, to do a little sightseeing. Below, is Ron, Jackie, Decah, and D.
We left our host couple, Chuck, and Brenda, on Monday morning.

Below, we are at Lake Michigan, in Milwaukee, enjoying the lake front!
On Tuesday, we rode back to Milwaukee, to take in The Harley-Davidson Museum. What a great experience! Below, is a photo of H-D #1. This is the original bike that was built in a 10x15 foot shed, back in 1903! The bike has been kept in a vault, until its display, in the new museum.

Below, is a photo of a Sporty, exactly like one, I had, except mine was black. I was able to find almost every bike I've had! it really brought back a lot of fond memories!
Below, is our "mounts", in front of the museum. we spent the day touring the museum!
What a great experience! Anyone visiting Milwaukee, whether a bike enthusiast, or not, should take the time to visit the museum!
After leaving the museum, we rode back to Racine, where we visited the local Harley dealer. While there, we were treated to seeing an old Indianapolis race car, being restored by the dealer, there. We witnessed the first test ride! Below is a photo of the 1950's vintage race car. What a sound, the engine made! As you can see, the engine cowling was removed.

After leaving Racine, we rode to Berrien Springs, Michigan, to spend a few days with Ron & Jackie, at their yearly camping jamboree. We really enjoyed just chilling for a few days! On Friday, July 9, we took a ride through the hilly Michigan wine country. We saw many beautiful vineyards, as we rode to Benton Harbor, MI, where we were treated the beauty of Lake Michigan!
Below is a photo of our crew as we stopped for lunch, along the way!

Below, is D&D at an overlook, along the way!
Below, Mitsy & Keith (Ron's brother, and sister-in-law), Decah, D , Jackie, and Ron.
Below, is a really unique, water park, we saw in Benton Harbor. It really looked inviting! We were really tempted to bide our bikes through it, to cool off!
We left Michigan Saturday morning, and began our journey, south, to spend a few days, with Tom and Jutta, in Pekin, Il. We really enjoyed our time with Ron & Jackie, and really hated to leave!

That museum sounds awesome! Bet that was really a great experience! And we could really use a water area like that around here!
