Update on Decah's condition

Decah spent a solid 6 hours in surgery. The doctors are very pleased with the surgery! They were able to remove all of the tumor, and the damaged nerve. As I'm writing this, I am in ICU with her. There doesn't appear to be any facial nerve damage. I think she was more concerned about this, than anything else! She has good control over her eye lids, and mouth. As we knew going into this surgery, she has lost hearing, in that ear, however, she can hear me, fine, and responds very well!
I'm sure this will be a convenient excuse for not hearing me, when it's to her advantage!

The next hurdle, spinal fluid leakage. The doctors say it will take a couple of days, before we know, or not. If there is leakage, that will be dealt with, as required.

For all she has been through, today, she looks super, and is very alert! I must say, she seems resilient! I guess all those miles on her Harley, has toughened her up!

If she gets a good nights rest, tomorrow should be much better!

I am totally overwhelmed with the response, we have gotten from all of our friends! I have always known, we are very blessed to have so many friends! This exceeded my wildest imagination! Thanks for all the well wishes, and prayers! I know between your thoughts, prayers, and one "tough cookie", she will be back in the saddle, soon!

I think I'm starting to ramble, so I will sign off, for now! I will update her condition, tomorrow morning. Feel free to call on my cell phone. I will keep this site updated, as well as Face Book.

Hi you two, David & I just got back in town after being out of touch with the "world" for awhile.
Very sorry to read, Decah, about your latest health crisis...anyone who had to have surgery, especially where yours was located, has had a "crisis". Really glad to hear all the good news following a 6 hr operation...you are an awesome lady & a true fighter. David & I will hold both of you in our thoughts & prayers...Keep up the good progress...Love, Phyllis & David M.

Hey glad to hear erythings going good. I do have one question, when has Decah ever had control of her mouth? Tell her I said that! I'll be ready for a whoppin' when I see her.
